Sectional Dismantle of Sycamore

by Jun 21, 2019News, Tree Blog

This week we removed an Acer pseudoplatanus (Sycamore) tree from a Church car park.

We used a sectional dismantle method.

Checo, Operations Manager, climbed the tree with rope and harness, removing thin, leaved branches initially with climbing saw and a hand saw called a Silky. Before dismantling the heavier larger limbs into sections which he dropped without damaging the tarmac on the car park. Towards the end of the dismantle, Checo left three stems which myself and Checo felled from ground level.

On the job we were joined by Jack, our work experience lad who is working two days a week learning the skills of a groundsman.

Jack proved to be safe, hardworking and a joy to work alongside.

Steve.
